--Kevin is pleased to announce a new protest song called "Bring It Back." For a while, you can hear it for free on this web site, but it's also available on his brand new Bandcamp page (kevinrenick4.bandcamp.com). The song is a reaction to the past few years of wretched headlines mostly resulting from the actions of one man. Personnel on the song: Kevin Renick, vocals and acoustic guitar; Ted Moniak, electric guitars; Rich Kruse, bass, drums, keys and effects; Ed Corno, executive producer. Rich Kruse also engineered the sessions. Check out the song below.
--Kevin and pal Ted Moniak recently entered the NPR "Tiny Desk Contest" with Kevin's original song "A Question For You." They taped the song at Top Notch Violins in Maplewood, MO where Ted works. You can check out their plaintive performance here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IvTgg5lQxQw
--A few years ago, Kevin learned that director Wolfgang Lehmkuhl was working on a film called LAMINA, and wanted to use one of Kevin's songs as part of the score. It appears that "Think Twice About It" has made the final cut. Stay tuned for information about when and how Lehmkuhl's film will be distributed.
--2025 completed ten years in the performing journey of "Kevin & Denise," a notable milestone for sure. "Denise Chappell has been an amazing musical partner through a vital part of my career," said Kevin. "There has been a real evolution in our sound, and she's a delight to perform with. I look forward to much more." You can check out the duo at Good News Brewing Co's Defiance location on Sun., May 3, 2026 from 2-5 pm.
--For a good portion of the last twelve months, Kevin has ranked #2 or #3 on the St. Louis/regional singer/songwriter chart for the site ReverbNation. At this writing, he's at #2. Help him get to number ONE by simply checking out his page at RN and listening to a song or two or leaving a comment. You can do that here: www.reverbnation.com/kevinrenick.
--Although Kevin doesn't have as much time for freelance writing as he'd like, he helped spearhead an ambitious article for Darren Tracy's Zachary Mule website last year which found a group of dedicated music lovers attempting to select their ten favorite albums of all time. Not the BEST critically, which magazines do all the time. But personal FAVORITES. Here is a link to that lively article: https://zacharymule.com/wp/?p=5714 Kevin has long had the Norwegian female trio Ephemera's 2004 masterpiece MONOLOVE at #1, but others that made his list included the Beatles' REVOLVER, Nick Drake's FIVE LEAVES LEFT, Joni Mitchell's HEJIRA and Talking Heads' REMAIN IN LIGHT.

Are you a videographer with the means to shoot a 4-minute music video relatively cheaply? Then get in touch, as Kevin hopes to do a music video for the new song "Walkin' Along." No special effects needed, just scenes of him and a couple of friends walking through Maplewood or another colorful neighborhood.

2026 represents the 18th anniversary of Kevin "receiving compensation" for making music. As such, he is thinking of putting together a limited-edition photobook of the journey. The book would contain fan comments, selected reviews, lyrics to some of Kevin's key songs and of course, lots of photos. If you have memories of a particular show, photos you've taken or (especially) something to say about one of Kevin's songs you really like, we want to hear from you. It would be great to include some lively fan commentaries in this volume, which we hope to raise money for.

Artists rely on fan support more than ever these days, especially since much of their music is given away for FREE or mere pennies. The physical presentation has definitely moved down the list of "preferred format" for most consumers. Therefore, we would like to invite your contributions (in any amount) to keep the "Kevin Renick adventure" going. Tons of new songs await recording, along with a myriad of other projects.
You can contribute via PayPal to: kevinrenickbusiness@gmail.com. You'll receive an acknowledgment of your contribution, an autographed photo and your choice of a CD or two or other gift. We are also working on the idea of a "House Party" gift for any contributor willing to send $200 or more. Watch this space for updates.
